Yes, the error is logged, but it's tricky to see it. You have to run HibernateSearchWithKarafIT with DEBUG=true, after the test passes go to osgi/karaf-it/target/exam/ee97872e-c91c-4515-8610-7d954691130f (or whatever UUID paxexam generated) and run the container with bin/karaf, right after the container starts you will see all the resolution errors
