This is a known limitation of the hibernate-hql-parser project we use. It only supports named parameters.

I must admit I'm a bit reluctant to invest time in it, considering our ultimate goal is to use the Semantic Query Model that will be introduced in Hibernate ORM 6 and that should solve this sort of issues.
