Gail Badner make sure you talk with Andrea Boriero, he had started to look into this but then I think he had dropped it half way.

From my part I was about to contribute a way to make it damn easy to assert for log messages to be logged (or not to be logged) but I'm blocked by https://github.com/hibernate/hibernate-orm/pull/903 (my little log helper requires the latest JBoss Logger version and because of that OSGi/Felix issue I can't upgrade ORM to use it)
