Anyway, I hope you'll choose to fix this postponing the statement generation (at least when the ID is not generated, but supplied).
As of now, it's a pain to debug such exceptions (especially when persist is called somewhere inside streams/lambdas/complex code) and ensure all required properties are filled before calling persist.
