I've attachd Base.java. It's only got an id attribute and equals and hashcode methods. Any other dependencies like Nvl.nvl shouldn't matter.

I have a lot of accumulated work at the moment, and thanks to your help i've gotten out of the bug but i get the chance to produce an isolated test case, I'll give it ago.
