I've fixed 10 intermittent failures on core's test suite. Also fixed couple of bugs when doing that.

Looking at the last 3 hudson runs, the test suite now looks quite stable:

last to runs reported one failure/run - both caused by clusters not being able to form, i.e. no UT logic failure.

I imagine there still are some intermittent failure in the suite, so if you catch them please raise a JIRA for them.
