I think the issues with JSF 2.0 and CDI are well known and I appreciate a lot of the work the Seam faces team is doing to improve things.
Just my opinion, but I preferred the discrete data source file approach.
I am still picking up AS 7 and some of the gripes are just unfamiliarity.
