Note that this patching mechanism should be disabled or otherwise not be allowed to be performed if the AS7 was installed via rpm since I assume "bad things" could happen if this is attempted. I assume this patch feature will not work on an rpm installation based on a recent comment I read, "RPM is a separate SCM solution and is not covered by the patching mechanism." We will want to prevent someone installing AS7 via RPM and some admin later on coming in thinking "oh look, here's a patch to upgrade, I'll just apply it using this new patch feature."
