Looks like this is a problem with the HornetQ service. I had faced similar problems with JBPM 5.3 while trying to click on the process tab after loggging into the JBPM console. I deleted the whole package and downloaded the ( jbpm-5.3.0.Final-installer-full.zip) file again,extracted it and tried with ant.install.demo command . After complete installation when I started the console I was able to start my process.Trust me there were no exceptions at all.
Earlier I had downloaded and installed jbpm 5.3 by running the commands seperately for every war which I need to deploy.I was able to start my server and was able to log in into my jbpm console but wasn't able to start my processes. So you can try with the above solution.Hope it helps you.
