Finally got it.
URI was incorrect.
As per https://github.com/droolsjbpm/drools, the URI is https://github.com/droolsjbpm/drools.git
One I put this URI into the import process, I was able (with some fiddling) to get the Git connector to work.
Still had to create a project called drools, and it all appeared.
