Indeed! WSRP-wise, GateIn has received lots of improvements over JBoss Portal, in particular with the implementation of WSRP 2 and, of course, there has been lots of improvements everywhere. However, since the architectures differ quite a bit, deciding to switch to GateIn should definitely be wisely evaluated. We also offer professional services to help you migrate. ;)
