The email service task is not working because you don't have an email server up and running and configured.
You will not be able to send mails via gmail or hotmail with out some configurations. You need to read about how to send mails in java and then we can guide you to integrate the solution that you find with jBPM. But this is not a JBPM5 problem at all is a generic java mail problem.
