Remoting sends invocations in the form of an org.jboss.remoting.InvocationRequest, which, besides the actual payload, can contain a parameter map. That's what you're seeing. It looks like EJB3 is putting a lot of stuff in the map, but I don't know what it is. That would be a questioin for the EJB3 forum.
