jBPM5 provides the capability of externalizing the information about how your processes are being executed. If you combine that with processes that support ad-hoc activities then it's up to the domain to analyze how to measure the executed activities. I'm pretty sure that I'm not covering all your question, but I would like to understand what do you want to achieve before going deep in the answer.
