Jesper - you actually seem to have two issues here, one is the "old" issue of deployment scanner suddenly stopping, the other about JBT4 defaults being bad for your EAP511 setup, correct?
Could you open a bug on https://jira.jboss.org/jira/browse/JBIDE on this specific issue since that should definitly not happen!
