He noticed correctly that our implementation does a lot of selectChildNames(), but that there exists no index on PARENT column in the database, only on the FQN column. Creating one vastly improved our implementation. I wonder if it's been considered as a default functionality before in JBC? I suspect that there are a number of TimeoutException issues which are currently open here which could be resolved by implementing this.
