so when will it be completely evicted if it could not be evicted due to its children the
first time? In my use-case the parent node has no data so, removing the data has no
effect.

It appears that parent nodes are sometimes not being evicted, leading to potential memory
leaks. See attached failing test.
Needs further investigation to find the cause root.
