What about working within Eclipse to get that moved into swt, jface or workbench? Seems like that's the cleanest solution all the way 'round.

there's an old bugzilla with this topic but noone actually working on it (unresolved since 2008):

Hi,

Max and I were talking about using the Mylyn
AbstractNotificationPopup
dialog instead of the standard Eclipse dialog to notify on startup
about
new found runtimes
This would mean adding several mylyn dependencies
(o.e.mylyn.commons.core and o.e.mylyn.commons.ui, probably) to the
runtime plugin.

I would like to know if anyone sees any problem with having these
specific dependencies?
