No, creation of source features is manual. See JBIDE-8838.
However, once source features are created, maintaining them in order to have them generate source PLUGINS automatically is fairly trivial.
For now, just ignore the comment in site.xml - I should have added an "if applicable" or "this is currently just for Nick" to that comment. :)

Already included.
Note too that any feature assigned to a category that's not defined
in the site.xml will be considered uncategorized. For example,
"JBoss Tools BrowserSim Test Nightly Build Update Site" is not a
defined category.
Should this new feature also be in JBDS?
Not yet. I will discuss it with Max and Denis tomorrow.
