It seems to be a WebKit engine issue.
I had the same white screen on Windows 7 until I installed a new version of Apple Application Support (one which is shipped with QuickTime 7.7.2).
So the solution should be just update WebKit engine:
On Windows - install a new version of QuickTime or iTunes (they are bundled with the most recent Apple Application Support which provides WebKit engine).
On Linux - use package manager to update libwebkitgtk. I hope this helps, however I cannot prove it because it is not reproducible on my Ubuntu 11.04 x86_64 with libwebkitgtk-1.0.0 version 1.8.0-0ubuntu2.
