The endpoint servlet is configured in jboss-beans.xml like this

  <bean name="ServiceEndpointPublisher" class="org.jboss.ws.integration.jboss42.ServiceEndpointPublisher">
    <property name="serviceEndpointServlet">org.jboss.ws.integration.jboss42.JBossServiceEndpointServlet</property>
  </bean>

Remember, in web.xml the deployment actually contains the endpoint bean (which is not a servlet) in <servlet-class>

The
ServiceEndpointServlet delegates all invokations to the endpoint bean.

Thomas,

I have not played with our implementation much so this might be a naive question. Do we extend our own base servlet for our web service endpoint or is the default HTTPServlet ?

There is no AOP magic within the JBoss AS that will make this happen?

If we can bring Amberpoint into the game with AS it will be a big boost to our SOA on AS story.  They provide some great governance/admin tools for SOA environments but seem to be having a hard time talking to JBoss AS.

Ram, how do we support this effort and assist Amberpoint?  They wish to move into the JBoss AS market and we will need them in the future JBoss ESB/SOA market.

JAXRPC Handlers are configured on the endpoint (i.e. per servlet context).
For global interception you need to install a listener with tomcat.
The details of which I don't know however.

Please review.  Amberpoint needs a way to "globally" intercept all SOAP requests in and out of the App Server.  Is there a way to have single JAXRPC handler for all inbound requests/responses?

Burr, Pierre, Mark:

Happy New Year to all !!

Is there still interest on your part in picking up the partnership efforts with AmberPoint?    Ideally, we’d like to get some feedback on the document (attached), that Paul Butterworth, our CTO put together as it relates to why Amberpoint needs a global handler for intercepting messages within the Jboss app server.

Would it be possible to arrange for a conference call sometime the week of Jan. 8 or Jan 15 to discuss?

Looking forward to your response on how we should best proceed here.    If we are still aiming for the targeted dates for the ESB this Spring, we should try and sync up sooner than later given any engineering efforts that will need to take place between our organizations.

Best regards,

Sandy

Hi Burr,

What we would like to do is get some feedback on the document that our CTO provided on the global handler requirement.

Is it possible to check with your engineering folks and get some feedback; then we can line up our follow on call perhaps for the first week of January?

Look forward to hearing back and definitely want to get this rolling after the 1st, your schedules permitting,

Have a super holiday,

Sandy

Sandy, Burr Sutter will be key to this and he's at Javapolis this week.  There is no attachment, BTW.  Pierre

Hi Pierre, Burr, Mark

Hope you are doing well and all getting ready for the holidays.

Touching base to see how we might best re-sync on our partnership now that Jboss World is over in Berlin.    One area that we’d like to focus on is the document [attached] that our CTO Paul Butterworth provided as it relates to global handler support.  Any chance that your engineering team has reviewed and could provide some feedback as to whether or not this might be able to be incorporated into a release of the jboss app server?     We also discussed getting a joint demo / presentation together that a minimum placed AmberPoint in the Jboss SOA reference stack (with App Server and forthcoming ESB) and an AmberPoint demo that shows our SOA Management System interacting with (managing and monitoring) services in the Jboss container.

We are looking forward to advancing our partnership and welcome your thoughts on how best to proceed at this juncture.

Best regards,
