Disabling chunking (in tomcat's server.xml) didn't solve the WTK 2.2 problem with
jboss-ws :(
Nevertheless it would be interesting to have this ability in @WebService or a custom
annotations,
because Tomcat's server.xml is not part of the war - so my webapp wouldn't
portable.

As for the WTK2.2 problem: we had to switch to spring-xfire to teach our students as a
SOAP service this year - although we preferred the EJB3 approach. It complained about the
end body tag, but it was ok. Hopefully WTK2.5 will fix the problem.
Sorry, but at this time I don't have any comparison of the xfire and jbossws output to
compare (I had it once with networktools.sf.net).

Yes, too bad that it's a non-portable solution: its not part of your war - so you need
to customize your jboss-tomcat installation or figure out how to do the same on

Sorry, I suppose I had missed this JIRA.
This configuration option is a behavior of the connector when it sends a response to a
specific user agent. As a result, it is not configured at the application level in Tomcat.
It seems if a user agent has HTTP/1.1 issues with webapp A, it could also have issues with
another webapp B, I think. restrictedUserAgents takes a regexp, and allows a fine match of
the problematic user agent. As a result, it should not needlessly degrade performance.
I don't understand the comment that this is not portable: this is an issue with a user
agent that is not HTTP/1.1 compliant, despite advertising otherwise. If a HTTP client
cannot handle chunking, it should consider making HTTP/1.0 requests instead (with
keepalive).
