Completely right. The duplicate config files are a cause of many problems. I tend to file
a jira issue to get them removed and just use this solution
ProcessDefinition deployment to a running server using ant, and the
servlet.

When using in-memory databases it is hard to deploy processdefinitions using the current
'DeployProcessTask'. Instead would like to deploy to the servlet (like the IDE
does).
