Looking at the source, the HQL in HistoryActivityInstanceQueryImpl is incorrect. HistoryActivityInstanceQueryImpl line 57 (jbpm 4.2): appendWhereClause(" hai.historyActivityInstance.processDefinitionId = '"+processDefinitionId+"' ", hql); should read: appendWhereClause(" hai.historyProcessInstance.processDefinitionId = '"+processDefinitionId+"' ", hql);
