We are near to make a big release with Stacks yaml Beta6 format with the considerations in this etherpad http://ether-man.rhcloud.com/p/stacks-jbosstools

The Beta6 format proposal diagram is attached to this email.

Changes:
- all labels will change from List<Properties> to Properties
- Runtime "type" (EAP/AS) attribute will be removed favoring the use of labels
- added "downloadURL" attribute (direct download). "url" attribute will be for "humans" only.
- added "license" attribute as alias for a license URL
- (defined by vote) Parser.java will become a complete Stacks Cliente with some features:
  * Download URL from Stacks Repo
  * Local Caching of the Stacks
  * Proxy configuration
  * Possibility to use a different (Overwrited) Stacks Repo
  * more to come...

ANYWAY, to start the Beta6 format we need to define if the Runtimes will only have Server Runtimes or other Runtimes as drools, seam, jbpm, hibernate, etc.
This could motivate the creation of another attribute called "category" to keep them separated.

Max/Fred,

Can we schedule a meeting to discuss that requirement? When do you suggest ?

I have nothing to add at this point. It looks like anything I can think of has been touched.

James,

Do you have any considerations?

Some alterations will be available on Beta6 format, so now it is the time ;)

Rafael, can you take any action items we've agreed on for stacks, and put it into JIRA and add the jira issue on the etherpad, as otherwise we're just going to get lost ;-)

Hey Pete, Rafael et.al.,

Fred and I finally got our heads together and walked through usecase scenarios from JBT/JBDS in context of stacks.yml.

For now we've put our notes together with questions at http://ether-man.rhcloud.com/p/stacks-jbosstools

If you could take a look at anything marked with "[JDF" that would be great.

If necessary we could setup a hangout/skype for going over in more detail ?

WDYT?,
