Because the Angular JS scaffold creates a comprehensive battery of REST endpoints, this could also be uses as the basis for demonstrating pure REST endpoint scaffolding for use in native JS, native mobile (android, ios, etc..) apps, and for consumption in business service clients.
The REST and angular JS generation is separate, so it should be trivial to re-use much of the existing tutorial and simply skip the angular JS portion, or if nothing else, just mention that the endpoints may be used for more general purpose use cases.
The demonstration of REST scaffolding is very valuable on its own, IMO.
