Yes, you need Red Hat maven repository, you can use the settings.xml from the WFK Quickstarts github repository https://github.com/jboss-developer/jboss-wfk-quickstarts/blob/2.7.x-develop/settings.xml or add the specified jboss-ga-repository definition to your existing settings.xml.
