Hi Pete
I too get the same error (NPE) when using eclipse's Run on Server. While it works fine when I run this on a Jboss EAP 6.1 deployed using maven commands and starting the jboss eap using command line. Looks like CDI is not enabled properly. How to fix this use ? Thanks.
