It's pretty nasty over there on TSS, but I read through all the postings today, and JSF 2 is faring pretty well. There were a number of people posting comments along the lines of "JSF 2 is really cool, you should check it out." So, while there were a few naysayers deriding JSF 2, there were more people coming to its defense, which overall is a very good sign.

I'm not sure it's worth fighting there in the comments. Just going to
make it a bigger issue, IMO.
I think we should just keep saturating the blogosphere with posts that
show people how truly easy it is, and make sure we keep pointing
people back to www.javaserverfaces.org, which should stay up to date
with the best guides we can possibly muster for getting started.
