In my opinion that must be configurable/overridable. I guess somebody complained about address being an IP instead of hostname but for us this change breaks our reliance of it being an IP instead of hostname. I think such backward incompatible changes need to be done accompanied with a configuration option. Filing MODCLUSTER-318 about that.
