If editing an artifact, presumably they're be a create relationships area with an "add targets" button. When hit, it sets the entire UI in an "editing relationship X" state. All search results would have an "Add Target" link next to them. At the top, have a "Finished Adding Targets" button that goes back to artifact details. This seems a bit convoluted, but I'd like to have the entire range and benefits of the artifact filters available.
