On its own, I'm not exactly sure what the built-in Karaf JPA feature provides. I
doubt it's an EE-type population of @PersistenceContext. However, enterprise OSGi
impls (ex: Apache Aries JPA) are capable of something really similar (container-managed
EntityManagers). Regardless, that's another dependency you'd have to require.
Further, Tomcat/Jetty blows holes in all this anyway.
So, shoot for programmatic EntityManagers. We have a fairly simple use case to begin
with...
