The top level status code may be
urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:status:Success (request succeeded)
urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:status:Requester (when the requester had errors)
urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:status:Responder (when the responder had errors)
urn:oasis:names:tc:SAML:2.0:status:VersionMismatch (when saml versions mismatched)

Currently the SAML2LogoutHandler handles just the success status code.
