PicketLink subsystem is all about IDM and Federation. We don't support features from the base module (aka PL JEE) today. And we probably won't.

Regarding the CDI issues. I've this project [1] that I got from an user. It is about an EAR with an EJB, JAR and WAR modules. Everything works fine if you put PL jars as EAR libs. But when using jboss modules and configuring dependencies using jboss-deployment-structure.xml it does not work.
