We are considering dropping support for servlet 2.5 with RichFaces 5.  This will greatly simplify our implementation of the fileupload component. Looking at some of the popular containers we can see that Servlet 3 support has been available for quite some time now: * JBoss* https://community.jboss.org/wiki/VersionOfTomcatInJBossAS (/wiki/VersionOfTomcatInJBossAS) * Since JBoss EAP 6 / JBoss AS 6  (aka WildFly) * Tomcat* http://tomcat.apache.org/whichversion.html (http://tomcat.apache.org/whichversion.html) * Since Tomcat 7 * Glassfish* https://glassfish.java.net/public/comparing_v2_and_v3.html * Since Glassfish 3.0 So effectively this means dropping support for Tomcat 6.
