Yea, or get hudson to build with JDK 5 (which is probably easier and just as less likely to stop people commit them, but at least we catch them faster).
The real problem is that our guvnor modeshape connector only builds with jdk 6.
Although the latest modeshape might run with JDK 5 again, I 'd have to check.

Secretly I am hoping we can reopen the "switch to JDK 6 for drools 6" discussion :)

You might want to enforce this automatically by adding the maven animal sniffer plugin to Drools' POMs.
