I think this is not the case. I can view a 5.3. log with the 5.2 viewer but I can't view a 5.3. log with the 5.3 viewer.

That is exactly my problem.
And unfortunately, I didn't find any clue about this issue by reading the Drools eclipse plug-in source code :(
