Ah I thought I had a vague memory of some BRL fragment stuff coming up … about time I upgraded I guess! :)

re. Rule templates - They're one of the options for writing a rule in Guvnor as an alternative to guided rules and decision tables. They're a bit like a hybrid between the two and might be worth looking at for this kind of thing. But if you're on a version that gives you BRL fragments, that may be what works better. For a quick comparison, I found the video useful that Mike did a while back:
http://vimeo.com/35472874

… it's mostly the basics of decision tables, but it covers BRL fragments and rule templates towards the end. It's a quick way to see what you can do with them.

DSL can be used in decision tables in 5.4.

You'll need to add a "BRL Fragment" column which, in essence, allows anything that could be defined with the Guided Rule Editor to be used as a column in a decision table.

With kind regards,

Mike

Thanks Stephen,

The responses are helpful. I have one more question: Do Rule Templates work
with the Guided Decision Tables or do I have to use the Spreadsheet (Excel)
based Decision Tables.

Thanks,
dme
