I guess that most folks who are tied into the WebSphere stack probably just go with JRules rather than Drools. Although FICO is also thoroughly usable in that stack.

I'd probably recommend using Drools Expert within your application on WAS, and stick with running Guvnor on Tomcat, as it does't need to be part of a 'production' installation.

However … is there much interest in getting Guvnor up and running on alternative app servers such as WAS/WebLogic/Glassfish?

I intend to be unemployed for the next few weeks, and I was thinking of finding myself a little OS project to work on. :)

Guvnor is really the issue as we do not have an off the shelf distribution targeting WAS (not that we wouldn't want to, but nobody in the community has been prepared to work out what is required).

RedHat's certified BRMS does not contain the most recent features.
