Hi All,
I have been using the H2 in memory database to test all my Drools Flow
scenarios using Guvnor and Gwt Console provided. And I have some questions
to ask and was wondering if someone can help. The main plan now is to switch
from using the H2 in memory database to Persist using the Oracle database.
1- What are the files that should be affected in this switch? or where
should I be looking into?
2- Are the tables created dynamically? and under which schema?
3- is there any test case implemented using this technology?

The changes I made for Oracle were:
1. Add ojdbc5 11.1.0.7.0 to classpath
2. Change the hibernate.dialect in persistence.xml to
org.hibernate.dialect.Oracle9Dialect
3. Use oracle.jdbc.xa.client.OracleXADataSource for the PoolingDataSource
class name
The tables will be created depending on how you have persistence.xml
configured (I used hibernate.hbm2ddl.auto value 'create')
However, I did experience a problem with the eventTypes member of
ProcessInstanceInfo:
'create table ProcessInstanceInfo_eventTypes' yields the error 'ORA-00972:
identifier is too long'.
The team is aware of this but I haven't seen a fix yet.

Regarding the ProcessInstanceInfo table you can add a hibernate mapping
like
<mapping resource="hbm.xml"/>
in persistence.xml
and then in hbm.xml something similar to
<hibernate-mapping package="com.foo.bar">
<class
name="org.drools.persistence.processinstance.ProcessInstanceEventInfo"
table="PI_EVT_INFO">
<id name="processInstanceId" access="field" type="long"
column="pi_id"/>
</class>
</hibernate-mapping>
It's a while ago that I've been experimenting with the flow persistence but this
was the last step required to finally make it work, as far as I remember.

Hi Gerret,
I did as u have stated to creating a mapping file for the tables name and
all the tables was succeffuly created except for the SessionInfo table. The
error was because the create table script contains a value of bit which is
not recognaized by oracle. How can I fix this issue? Below is what I have in
the hb.xml and the exception I encountered on the console.
my hb.xml contains.
<class name="org.drools.persistence.session.SessionInfo"
table="DROOL_SESSION_INFO">
<id name="id" access="field" type="integer"
column="session_id"/>
</class>
the following exeption appeared:

Hi Ram,
I've been using hibernate 3.3 with an Oracle11g which auto-created the
"dirty"
column as a NUMBER(1,0) type.
Giving it a quick try, when I map as you've sketched above and add
<property name="dirty" access="field" type="boolean"
column="dirty" length="1"/>
to the sessionInfo mapping the dirty column is created as NUMBER(1,0). Using
type="true_false" instead of "boolean" it becomes CHAR(1 BYTE).
Perhaps one of these works for you?

The 'identifer is too long' issue was addressed in
https://jira.jboss.org/browse/JBRULES-2448.
However I have added the following comment to that issue:

The fix is an improvement, but wouldn't it be better to avoid the
hibernate-specific @CollectionOfElements annotation?
Also the way things are I don't think I can override the table name
'EventTypes' because it is assumed here, in this fix.

Are these concerns worthy of a new issue? Not being able (at least not
easily) to override the table name is a nuisance.
