Hello,
I am new to drools community...
I want to develop an expert system for medical application using drools.
can you please let me know how to use history data in drools... Because
as far as i know we have to keep all the data in the working memory to
access.
How should i implement such system?
Would be better if you can provide some reference to existing expert
system implemented using drools.

We wanted to build a systems for medical domain... we have patient data with
us... like patient history....
We want to reason over this data and give advice and recommendation based on
this data...
prediction of disease to the doctor based on the symptom... and system
should be self sustain to take the decision....
I agree you will find this very abstract requirement... but at this point of
time we have this information only...

I am using the org.drools.brms.client.modeldriven.brl.RuleModel class to create the rules
dynamically and then persisting them using the BRDRLPersistence class.
I am able to do majority of the things but I am stuck at
Invoking a rule flow process from the drl.
We can type the following code in the DRL drools.getWorkingMemory().startProcess(Process
ID)
Does anyone have an idea about how this can be done using the RuleModel class

Make sure that Rule Model API of Drools 4 and 5 release support rule flow
generation or not. Having looked at the source, I didn't see such APIs to
fulfill your requirement.

Yes, we need to still complete the drools-api, but we want to keep it as
simple as possible. Please send your suggestions and patches, so that we can
better meet your requirements. Creating JIRAs is the best way to make sure
the requirements don't get lost.

I did quick analysis of Drools Rule Model API. Following are unavailable
Drools constructs in Rule Model API.
1. Conditional braces and logical operators are not available to construct
the conditional set with multiple child facts.
2. Individual constructs:
• 'and' operator
• 'from' keyword
• 'in()' Operator
• Conditional construct 'forall()'
• Conditional construct 'Collect'
• Conditional construct 'accumulate()'
• Usage of Java.util.Collection interface (ArrayList,HashSet)usage with
'Collect' and 'From' constructs
Developers facing the difficulty in writing Rule UI to generate drl using
existing Rule Model APIs in Drools 4 and 5 version.

Vikram - I am making the assumption that on the RHS of a rule you want
to kick off a rule process.
If this is the case, then in 4.0.x here is now way to do that with the
rule model stuff. In 5, it is possible (as you can put an arbitrary
expression on the RHS and it will render it out).

Yes, there has been a lot of research in this area. Start looking at the
mycin project, which is well documented, from the 80s and progress from
there. Peter Jackson's book "Expert Systems" book also covers the mycin
and other similar medical systems. Let us know what you find. One aspect
that seems essential for medical diagnosis is the ability to deal with
uncertaintiy, we have a sub project for this but it's not finished yet.
