1. Can I use the standard src/main/webapp for the web assets? The webbeans build uses WebContent which I guess is for JBDS. But I think I can get JBDS to work with src/main/webapp just fine. I'm also open to the folder named "view". I really dislike the folder name WebContent.

A question for Max really - this is a good chance to fix up the structure if we need to.  One thing I'd like to see is WEB-INF moved out of resources and into the web (or whatever we call it) directory.
 
Yes, I should have mentioned that's the Maven way, to have WEB-INF adjacent to view templates. In fact, I feel very strongly that if we are going to adopt a structure, that we not try to go against the grain because that is when you end up with these strange hybrids. So I'm going to try to adhere to them. But from my experience so far, JBDS has no problem looking for a nested folder to find the "view" folder (which includes WEB-INF).
