YES!  This is exactly what I want to see happen.  Something like
Openstack Keystone.  Something we can put on the cloud.  Combine it with
the protocols I want to write (OAuth2 extensions and custom REST
protocls) and you have something that is completely distributed, very
scalable, and that can work both in very distributed/complex workflows
as well as simple applications.


Ok, leave this with me for a bit.  Bolek did some early prototype design
work on application support for IDM, however we ended up throwing it
away.  I'll see if I can dig it up and work out how we can weave this
into the current design.  I'm guessing that this will also be an
extremely useful feature for the AS guys too.
  Shane, if you are referring to Viliam Rockai's jquery app, we did not 
throw it away completely. We said we will adapt it to the new IDM 
changes we are making.

No, I'm referring to Bolek's earlier IDM prototype, which had basic application support.  See:
