There are a couple issues with the correlationKey functionality of the BPM Component that need to be fixed for 1.0:
1) The property was not correctly being accessed from the incoming message context, thus the code defaulted to signaling all process instances.
2) There was no way to be specific about denoting operations as signaling a specific instance vs. signaling all instances.
