Camel registers namespace definitions on the <camelContext> element with the XPath processor so expressions can use namespace prefixes. There is no <camelContext> element for SY routes, but we can look at allowing namespace defined in the routes element or via the SCA implementation configuration to be registered with the XPath processor.
