All, We're taking another poke at the New/Edit Teiid Instance dialog to help clarify the distinction between a Teiid JDBC connection and Teiid Admin connection. https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-1097 I've attached a screen cap with the proposed changes which include: - Required custom names for ALL instances (removes confusion of allowing users to use URL or custom names) - Swapping the Admin & JDBC info sections to make "JDBC" the focus since Designer's primary purpose is to manage and test VDB's. < includes moving the Host name field to the JDBC section - Moving the TEST button to the bottom of the dialog < Allows the concept of testing BOTH admin and JDBC connections < We can hopefully deploy a small dynamic VDB (vdb.xml) during the admin ping() method. - Added short description at top of each section Take a gander and please enter your comments on the JIRA and not on this thread :) Cheers Barry LaFond Teiid Designer Project Team
