[JBoss JIRA] Commented: (TEIIDDES-1059) RFE for Teiid Designer - add a new importer similar to the Text File importer but for XML Documents
by Barry LaFond (JIRA)
Barry LaFond commented on TEIIDDES-1059:
----------------------------------------
The current Data Tools "ODA Data Sources > XML Data Source" connection profile is designed for a single XML source, either FILE or URL based.
Wondering if it makes sense to try and emulate the Flat File data source version which manages a "File Folder" and the Importer can import/create multiple view tables in a single import.
If this makes sense we'd either have to:
1) Create a different/new Connection Profile that mimics the Flat File folder inputs
2) Use the Flat File Connection Profile for import and just look for and process *.xml files

> Can an Importer similar to the text file importer be added to Teiid Designer. One that would produce the same results as if it was manually done.

[JBoss JIRA] Created: (TEIIDDES-982) Web Services Connection Profile dialog doesn't provide guidance when CP has no valid Teiid connection properties
by Paul Nittel (JIRA)
Web Services Connection Profile dialog doesn't provide guidance when CP has no valid Teiid connection properties
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Key: TEIIDDES-982
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-982
Project: Teiid Designer
Issue Type: Bug
Components: Web Services Support
Affects Versions: 7.4
Environment: JBDS 4.1.0 CR1
Reporter: Paul Nittel
I'm trying to replicate the Weather example using Designer.
I created (generated?) the invoke procedure and modeled a view whose transformation SQL contains the XML parsing constructs used in the example.
I created a connection profile as part of defining the data source. This process involves the Web Services Data Source dialog (see screenshot). For this I entered the URL as the SOAP endpoint. Al other field were left blank. Test connection returned a success message, yet when I exited the dialog, the resulting profile was in error "There are no valid Teiid connection properties associated with this connection profile". (See the other screenshot.)
Perhaps this is evidence of an underlying bug, but it represents a usability issue since it doesn't clearly explain what's missing or incorrect.

[JBoss JIRA] Resolved: (TEIIDDES-1058) Importing a .vdb into a different named project than what it was created will cause java.lang.IllegalArgumentException when a model in the vdbeditor is doubleclicked
by Dan Florian (JIRA)
Dan Florian resolved TEIIDDES-1058.
-----------------------------------
Release Notes Text: Double-clicking in a VDB Editor on a model that does not have a corresponding copy in the workspace no longer throws an exception.
Resolution: Done

> Imported a the models and .vdb file for a project (i.e., Loopback) into designer under a different project name (i.e, Loopback2). When I opened the vdb editor and tried to doubleclick the souce model (just pick any model), it produced the attached doubleclick.txt error in the log file.
> The cause is because the "Path" in the vdb points to a non-existent project.
> Talking with Barry, what should probably happen is upon the designer opening the vdb in the editor, it should verify the paths are valid and provide an indicator when a model can't be found. And when a model is flagged as not being found, the vdbeditor shouldn't process the double click.
