Hello Barry, thanks for fast reposnse.
1)
I have two virtual machines for this purpose.
Both are set on same phisical machne.
Both are running Microsoft Server 2012 R2 Standard, and there is no other application on any of this VM. One is dedicated for Teiid Server and another for Designer. No other aps.
Firewalls are off on both VMs as i was looking for this problem source.
2) frome one hand i can connect to teiid server from this second VM with no problems, pls see attached files. But from another hand i found something during the process.
You have to check this on another pair of VM`s. While connecting via cli
- input user name
- press enter
- start input password like few first letter
- then start to deleting it like you want to start over with backspase key
- then some errors go. Perhaps its normal? im not sure.
Both screens attached.
one with proper login with no attept to correct the password
second one with errors while try to correct password during input
plese note that i will have to try restore previouse configuration from backups soon, so this is good moment if you need some more intel. Or to find some workaround :)
Thanks for help. You are doing amazing job here !

> I have working and properly set TEIID engine, and on another virtual machine i have teiid designer set. Both clean instalation. I can see and log to console to Teiid console from designer virtual machine but there is no way i can create a Teiid server in teiid designer. I tried everythin, teiid has ussers added, it boots on server external ip on all interfaces, it works as i can log into console. Version on TD is teiid-designer-9.1.0.Final-v20150709-2022-B3936, and it seems there is something wrong with it.
> In properties in teiid section i can set only 8.9 version and there is no 8.10 or above (i mean 8.10.1). When i put 8.10.1 from keyboard i got information that this version is not supported. Teiid server is reachable by eclipse remote explorer (ftp only). And it also works. I will attache some logs later

> When using the parseTimestamp function in the transformation editor while creating a relational view model, a StringIndexOutOfBoundsException is thrown. The query SELECT parseTimestamp('18:10:20', 'HH:mm:ss') is used in the transformation editor which gives 'String index out of range: 1'. I want to use the function with a column of my table but produces the same error.
> When deploying a virtual database and executing exactly the same query on the database, the query finishes successfully and gives the result.

Hi [~phantomjinx],
I updated to Teiid Designer 9.1.0.Final and I imported your project. The String index out of range exception is no longer there, instead it shows 'ERROR: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException: character to be escaped is missing'. I have not yet been able to reproduce the String index out of range exception but I will notify you in that case.
Thanks,
Daan

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIIDDES-2398) Inconsistent column datatypes when importing
by Barry LaFond (JIRA)
Barry LaFond commented on TEIIDDES-2398:
----------------------------------------
Developing a datatype mapping framework is a substantial effort. Pushing for now
Recommend that users use Teiid Connection importer, when concerned, which performs it's own mapping.
Moving to Komodo and Teiid DDL dialect, there won't be a need for this type mapping because of the use of Teiid runtime types.
