A little background on why it is the way it is. Originally we had the implementation such
that you imported from a CP (and nothing went in the model), and created datasources from
the CP. The complaint was that there were too many moving parts. What if you imported
and then picked the wrong CP when creating the datasource. Boom. We considered putting
only the CP ID in the model, but then you're limited to your workspace, as soon as you
move it, you've effectively lost your connection info.
