[JBoss JIRA] (TEIIDDES-1807) Can not select JAR files in "Generate RestEasy WAR" wizard
by Paul Richardson (JIRA)

Paul Richardson commented on TEIIDDES-1807:
-------------------------------------------
git pull [request|https://github.com/Teiid-Designer/teiid-designer/pull/219] removes these locations and replaces the functionality with the adding of the targeted teiid client runtime plugin path.

> Designed a virtual procedure with REST based extension metadata, created VDB and trying to generate the WAR file from it. The "Create REST WAR File" wizard asks to select the "teiid-engine" and "teiid-common-core" jar files, but
> 1) Navigating through "browse" button will not let you select the jar file
> 2) Nor typing the whole path manually enable the "OK" button to finish.
> (see attached picture)
> Also, why would one need these files to be included in the WAR file? At best it needs to use the "teiid-jdbc.jar", even that not needed because it of use of the JNDI name. IMO, they should not be needed compilation, if needed, use the Designer's plugin-in which already has this dependency. MUST not need runtime dependency, unless the communication between the REST service and Teiid server is not over JDBC. Can not select JAR files in "Generate RestEasy WAR" wizard

[JBoss JIRA] (TEIIDDES-1817) Remove teiid engine and common-core jar locations from REST war wizard
by Paul Richardson (JIRA)
Paul Richardson created TEIIDDES-1817:
-----------------------------------------
Summary: Remove teiid engine and common-core jar locations from REST war wizard
Key: TEIIDDES-1817
URL: https://issues.jboss.org/browse/TEIIDDES-1817
Project: Teiid Designer
Issue Type: Enhancement
Components: Web Services Support
Affects Versions: 8.2.GA
Reporter: Paul Richardson
Assignee: Paul Richardson
Fix For: 8.2.GA
The RESTEasy war generation wizard asks the user to specify the locations of the Teiid engine and common-core jars. These are used in the compilation of the war's classes. This is unnecessary since the teiid runtime client's include the contents of both jars so add their plugin location to the compilation classpath instead.
